**Anchored Standard** (xiaobright/dsh-anchored-standard) does a clever hybrid: 1. First model request: presents V4 Pro with essentially the same environment as Minimal... 2. As soon as it makes its first real tool call/reply, it unlocks the full Standard toolset... The author found that the tool schema on that first request appears to be the decisive variable.

the anchored standard result is the one that got me. 98/99 with the full toolset handed back after the first call kills the 'fewer tools = fewer mistakes' explanation, which was the obvious alternative. so it really does come down to what the model sees at init. kinda fits the RL story though. train a model inside one specific scaffold and it'll behave best inside that scaffold, first message included.

I saw the dsh-anchored-standard plugin yesterday, the popularity of this thing and what it promised, and decided to give it a try on porting the approach to a Pi extension, cause I really like that harness and wouldn't like to have a harness just for DeepSeek. It works, I managed to replicate the whole thing. All thinking uses "We ...", as flagged by xiaobright as being the trace of a superior version of DeepSeek v4 Pro.

It's a gacha with the model as it is overfit to it. I have seen Bilibili experiments with it, minimal prompt, no system prompt, and even in minimal it often drops the "let me". There is just so many vocabulary the model has been trained on that it's inevitable that at times it begins to output distinctive patterns not akin to its original chain of thought—that's Entropy.

Awesome. To be honest, I had to get ChatGpt to give me an explainer on this, but now that I have vague idea of what is discussed here...very interesting. A lot of my enthusiasm for AI development involves how the open-source community can use it, as opposed to more sealed off products released by frontier developers, so it's neat to see interesting potential that is more open-source friendly.

Looks like we've gone full circle from roleplaying -> coding/useful stuff -> roleplaying again. From my experience, (I still use SillyTavern like it's 2023) making the ai do a persona while also trying to be a coder/etc. is stacking tasks on top of each other which makes it worse at both.

I would read up on this. It's not roleplaying per se. It is doing something useful. Check out that github and the dev alludes to it. "Your colleague quit, leaving behind a mountain of unmaintained docs?" ... That's using this to do useful stuff. Since it effectively gives you a digital twin of your coworker to do useful stuff with.

An AI agent's memory is usually a black box — you don't know what it remembered, where it's stored, or whether you can edit it directly. EverOS, 10,300 stars, turns all of that into a pile of .md files you can open, running locally with no hosted service required. In one line: a local-first persistent memory layer for AI agents, stored as Markdown files you can read, edit, and git diff — installed with a single pip command.

I made a plugin (Token anxiety) for the deepseek harness 0.1 that shows the cost per task, the peak hours and how much a task would cost after the hike... As tips to reduce your bill I found that open research questions, typos, not being specific in the prompts and bugs in toolcalling make up 50%+ of the tokens.

The recent DeepSeek and K3 releases have people finally taking a hard look at the harness behind agent benchmarks. This Karpathy post fills in the other half: a harness can't infinitely amplify a model just by swapping in a different prompt and toolset. The precondition is an environment that can feed results back to the agent. Coding has compilers, tests, and logs. But in a dynamic 3D world, Opus 5 (post truncated at source)

It's so awesome, I love it. I've already created 3 plugins (auto title sessions, git worktree a workspace, show session cost and balance in real time). Fast (I am on a 2017 MacBook Pro), reliable, fully customizable, 95-99% cache hit, really nice and minimalist UI). I objectively think it's way better than Reasonix and Pi

The harness is good, unlike other harness, it wont stop or wait for user input, it even catch all errors during runtime, decide to stop the app and debug it. It also ask me to click the accept button for it to work with. The downside is very bad model.

I tried adding a plugin to DeepSeek Harness (dsh-deepseek-vision) and ran into this error: "Failed to load plugins... keyed slot 'settings.plugin.item' requires options.key". After that, the plugin system no longer works properly. What bothers me is the architecture: everything seems to depend on the plugin system, so a failure in one plugin can effectively break the entire ecosystem... a malformed or incompatible plugin should be isolated and disabled rather than preventing the rest of the plugin system from loading. I've used Hermes and Claude Code, and I haven't experienced this kind of failure mode there.
